Summary: Seeking a Gear Hobber & Shaper to set up, operate, and maintain precision gear cutting machines with expertise in aerospace and defense materials.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in gear hobbing and shaping machining

  • Strong understanding of gear geometry, gear cutting processes, and machine operation principles

  • Experience with materials such as stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and aluminum

  • Proficient in reading blueprints, GD&T, and inspection reports

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or MIL-SPEC manufacturing standards

  • Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and gear inspection tools

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Pfauter, Gleason, Barber-Colman, or Fellows gear machines

  • CNC gear cutting or shaping experience

  • Knowledge of gear inspection software and CMM operation

  • Prior experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate gear hobbing and shaping machines per engineering drawings and specifications

  • Interpret blueprints, gear charts, and process sheets for machine settings and machining sequences

  • Perform machine setups including selecting tooling, cutters, feeds, and speeds

  • Inspect gears using micrometers, calipers, gear inspection equipment to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Monitor machining operations for dimensional accuracy and surface finish adjustments

  • Conduct preventive maintenance on machines to ensure operational reliability

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet delivery and quality targets

  • Maintain clean work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards



Pay Details: $24.00 to $34.00 per hour
