Summary: Seeking a Process Engineer to evaluate friction welding applications, develop processes, and optimize component designs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or Materials required

  • 2-3 years experience in friction welding or solid-state joining processes

  • 2-3 years experience in process definition, development, and improvement

  • Direct experience in material joining and material properties preferred

  • Knowledge of DFM (design for manufacture) and DOE (design of experiments) methodology

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate potential applications for friction welding

  • Research and develop new processes

  • Determine weld parameters and machine settings based on materials and geometry

  • Prepare metallurgical samples and assess metallurgy

  • Recommend component redesigns to optimize welding design

  • Determine material and equipment requirements for jobs

  • Prepare proposals and quotations for feasibility studies and production welding

  • Serve as technical contact for all weld development efforts

  • Evaluate quality and modify process parameters as needed

  • Prepare technical documentation for new programs or product launches



Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $85,000.00 per hour
