CNC Process Engineer – Develops and optimizes multi-axis CNC machining processes for high-precision, tight-tolerance manufacturing.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in CNC machining and process engineering.

  • Experience with CNC programming, setup, and operation.

  • Proficiency in NX programming for CNC.

  • Proficiency with Vericut simulation for program verification.

  • Experience with probe and macro programming on CNC equipment.

  • Multi-axis CNC machining experience (3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and multi-axis mill-turn lathes).

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.

  • Experience using metrology tools and measurement systems for in-process and final inspection.

  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience with PC-DMIS CMM programming.

  • Experience in automation engineering related to machining or inspection.

  • Industry experience in firearms or other high-precision, tight-tolerance manufacturing environments.

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Epicor, for production planning and scheduling.

  • Experience working within AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems; certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient CNC machining processes, including tooling, fixtures, and programming for multi-axis CNC machines.

  • Create CNC programs using NX and validate programs using Vericut simulation.

  • Analyze manufacturing workflows to identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.

  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products, providing DFM (Design for Manufacturability) input during the design phase.

  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for machining and process-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.

  • Evaluate and select CNC equipment, tooling, workholding, and related technologies to support current and future production needs.



Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
