Required Qualifications

• BS or AS in Mechanical Engineering or related field; early-career drafter with manufacturing background

• Capable of creating detailed engineering drawings and GD&T

• Capable of performing tolerance stack-up analysis

• Familiar with CAD modeling software (will review all major CAD)

• Familiar with mechanical design principles

• Familiar with applying material science within designs

Top 3 Qualifications

• Proficiency in creating drawings with correct GD&T and manufacturable callouts

• Proven capability in tolerance stack-up analysis

• Hands-on familiarity with CAD modeling for production-ready parts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating tools, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing

• Experience with CATIA or Creo (other CAD considered)

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, molding, fabrication)

• Familiarity with common manufacturing equipment and shop practices

Job Responsibilities

• Produce and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to defined standards

• Execute tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure fit/function across assemblies

• Apply material selection and basic material science to meet performance and cost targets

• Release, revise, and manage CAD and drawing documentation through PLM/PDM workflows

• Partner with manufacturing to ensure design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA)

• Support creation of tooling, jigs, and fixtures in collaboration with manufacturing engineering

• Maintain drawing/GD&T consistency with applicable standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5)

Pay Details: $29.00 to $32.00 per hour
