Mechanical Tech (Fitter)
Seeking an experienced Ship Fitter with prior shipyard experience to support vessel construction, repair, and maintenance operations.
Job Requirements:
-
1 to 3 years of relevant ship fitting experience
-
Prior shipyard experience required
-
High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of additional education and/or related experience

OR Associates degree in a relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience
-
May require applicable certifications
Preferred Skills:
-
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications

Familiarity with various cutting, fitting, and welding tools and techniques
-
Understanding of shipbuilding standards and safety practices
-
Knowledge of layout, fabrication, and assembly of metal components
Job Responsibilities:
-
Perform fitting and alignment of structural components using jigs and fixtures
-
Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications
-
Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using measuring tools
-
Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently
-
Assist in the repair, modification, and retrofitting of vessels as directed
-
Adhere to quality assurance and safety procedures throughout all job activities
Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
