Mechanical Tech (Fitter)

Seeking an experienced Ship Fitter with prior shipyard experience to support vessel construction, repair, and maintenance operations.

Job Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of relevant ship fitting experience

• Prior shipyard experience required

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of additional education and/or related experience

• OR Associate�s degree in a relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience

• May require applicable certifications

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications

• Familiarity with various cutting, fitting, and welding tools and techniques

• Understanding of shipbuilding standards and safety practices

• Knowledge of layout, fabrication, and assembly of metal components

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform fitting and alignment of structural components using jigs and fixtures

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications

• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using measuring tools

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently

• Assist in the repair, modification, and retrofitting of vessels as directed

• Adhere to quality assurance and safety procedures throughout all job activities

Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
