Drafter Engineer
Summary: Create fabrication-ready bus bar and sheet metal designs using CAD tools to generate flat patterns, DXFs, and press brake programs.
Job Requirements

2+ years of drafting or CAD engineering experience in bus bar, sheet metal, or precision metal fabrication

Proficiency in SolidWorks (Sheet Metal module) and AutoCAD
-
Ability to create accurate flat patterns and DXF files
-
Experience with Amada press brake programming or comparable CNC press brakes
-
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications
-
Knowledge of forming characteristics of copper and aluminum
Preferred Skills

Direct experience in bus bar manufacturing

Experience with laser cutting systems
-
Experience with CNC punching systems
-
Familiarity with ISO 9001, PPAP, and first-article inspection processes

Knowledge of plating and finishing processes (tin, silver, anodizing, epoxy edge)
Job Responsibilities
-
Create and revise 2D/3D CAD models and drawings for bus bars and sheet metal components
-
Produce flat patterns and export DXF files for fabrication
-
Develop and maintain bend deductions and forming parameters for copper and aluminum parts
-
Program press brake operations (Amada or comparable CNC brakes) to meet print requirements
-
Review customer specifications and apply GD&T requirements to drawings and inspection features
-
Support manufacturing with drawing clarifications, revision control, and fabrication-ready documentation

Coordinate with fabrication and quality teams to support first-article and PPAP documentation as required
-
Incorporate plating/finishing requirements into design outputs and manufacturing documentation
Pay Details: $50,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
