Technician (PLC/Robots)
Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Supports final assembly and automation equipment, processes, and continuous improvement in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Job Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering.

Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components.
-
Hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment, processes, and products to identify root cause.

Ability to read and interpret advanced engineering documents (schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings).
-
Experience using manufacturing systems such as ERP, Agile, and EMES or equivalent.
-
Ability to maintain product records and technical documentation.
-
Ability to comprehend and use product and process component datasheets.
-
Ability to assemble and disassemble products, including prototypes.
-
Ability to perform intermediate mechanical work (simple mechanisms, brackets, fixtures, etc.).
-
Basic understanding of Studio 5000 and ladder logic for PLC controls, with capability to learn more advanced functions.
-
Basic experience with industrial robots (Fanuc and/or UR) and ability to learn and utilize complex robot features.

Ability to research, tabulate, and summarize technical and production data.

Familiarity with PFMEA concepts and participation in PFMEA reviews.
Preferred Skills:
-
7+ years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering.

Experience with assembly and automation equipment such as torque tools, conveyor lines, PLCs, robots, and build fixtures.

Experience developing or updating manufacturing work instructions (MWIs) and related documentation.
-
Experience supporting ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environments.
-
Experience with time studies, labor standards, and line balancing.
-
Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools applied to final assembly (waste identification, layout optimization, standard work).
Job Responsibilities:
-
Provide technical support to production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to assembly tools, equipment, processes, and products during manufacturing.
-
Support installation, setup, wiring, programming, documentation, training, and maintenance of assembly and automation equipment (fixtures, torque tools, conveyor lines, PLCs, robots, etc.).

Create and update MWIs and JDAAT programs, including labeling and final packaging requirements.
-
Configure PLCs, networks, sensors, scanners, cameras, and I/O devices to integrate automated systems.
-
Directly support Manufacturing and Factory Automation Engineers and other departments, including coordination of prototype jobs and resources.

Assist in design, fabrication, and verification of production and prototype fixtures, jigs, and simple machines.
-
Train operators and technicians on the proper use of fixtures, jigs, and simple machines.
-
Serve as the engineering representative on Final Assembly Continuous Improvement Teams, driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity via Lean Manufacturing principles.

Review and assist with assembly line layout activities, including identifying waste, recommending improvements, implementing changes, and coordinating equipment and bench moves.

Assist with development of labor standards, perform time studies, and support line balancing.

Assist with development of final assembly processes and coordinate activities with multiple departments and locations, including early-stage build support.

Create purchase requisitions for tools and supplies required for assembly and automation support.

Use Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint to document and communicate technical information and project status to stakeholders.

Research assembly techniques, equipment, systems, and products to support process improvements and equipment selection.

Support efforts to maintain ISO 9001 certifications through adherence to procedures and documentation standards.
Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
