Process Engineer II
Polymer Extrusion Engineer responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing polymer extrusion processes and equipment for new and existing medical products.
Job Requirements
BS in Engineering
2–4 years of engineering experience
Experience working with polymers such as Pebax, Nylon, PEEK, and Urethanes
Experience with prototyping, fixturing, and New Product Development (NPD)
Strong documentation skills, including TMV and OQ/PQ execution and reporting
Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
Understanding of statistics and experience performing statistical analysis
Preferred Skills
Experience developing and characterizing extruded processes: free extrusion, over-the-core, coextrusion, over braid, reel-to-reel, multi-lumen, and bump extrusion
Familiarity with how extrusion input parameters affect process outputs and product performance
Experience developing equipment and fixtures from concept through prototype and into production
Experience using DFSS tools such as DOE and structured problem-solving methods
Experience with mechanical design, automation and controls, and basic programming for equipment or test systems
Experience using statistical analysis software tools
Medical device or other regulated industry experience with exposure to quality systems and regulatory requirements
Job Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and scale polymer extrusion processes for existing and new products
Plan and execute TMV, OQ, and PQ activities, including protocol development, data collection, analysis, and final reporting
Design, prototype, and refine fixtures and equipment required for extrusion processes and downstream operations
Apply DFM and DFSS principles to improve manufacturability, yield, and process robustness
Use statistical tools and DOE to characterize processes, define critical parameters, and establish process windows
Support NPD teams with extrusion process input, material selection, and manufacturability assessments
Generate and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and validation records in accordance with quality system requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance) to implement and sustain new processes in production
Support investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to extrusion processes and equipment
Pay: 35-44

Pay Details: $35.00 to $44.00 per hour
