Sr Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer
Designs and delivers electromechanical machinery and production tooling/fixtures from concept through build using SolidWorks.
Requirements

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
-
5+ years mechanical design experience
-
SolidWorks proficiency for part/assembly modeling and detailed drawings
-
Tooling and fixture design for manufacturing and test
-
Electromechanical mechanism design (linkages, cams, actuators, drives)
-
End-to-end design ? procure ? build lifecycle ownership
-
GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and tolerance stack-up analysis
-
DFM/DFA and producibility for machining, sheet metal, and additive processes
-
Material selection for strength, wear, thermal, and cost targets
-
Component selection for motion systems (motors, gearboxes, linear guides, bearings)
Preferred Skills
-
SolidWorks PDM or equivalent CAD data management
-
Basic controls exposure (sensors, servos, VFDs, I/O) and interface to PLCs
-
Pneumatics and hydraulics in automated equipment
-
FEA for sanity checks on stiffness/strength (SolidWorks Simulation or similar)
-
Machine safety standards familiarity (e.g., ISO 13849, ANSI/RIA)
-
Vendor sourcing and cost/lead evaluation for custom and catalog parts
-
Rapid prototyping methods and fixture tryout practices
Responsibilities
-
Define requirements and translate use cases into tooling/machine concepts
-
Develop layouts, mechanisms, and detailed CAD with BOMs and release drawings
-
Perform GD&T, tolerance stacks, and basic structural checks
-
Plan procurement, source vendors, and manage fabrication of parts/fixtures
-
Oversee assembly, integration, and bring-up; execute FAT/SAT and capability checks
-
Iterate designs based on test data; drive ECOs and documentation updates

Create work instructions and maintenance packages for fixtures/machines
-
Support handoff to production and sustainment for multiple product lines
Pay Details: $65.00 to $70.00 per hour
