Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); 15+ years of relevant experience

  • Expertise in analog and digital embedded motor controllers for three-phase BLDC/PMSM motors (new design and sustaining)

  • Subject-matter-expert knowledge of motor control theory, power conversion, and energy conservation

  • Proficiency with aerospace electronics development flow: requirements generation, preliminary/detailed design, peer reviews, test plan creation, integration, and verification

  • Analog circuit depth: op-amps, comparators, passive/active filters, BJTs/FETs, application-specific topologies

  • Digital circuit depth: logic ICs, state machines, memory technologies, microprocessors, and digital comms (ARINC-429, CAN, I²C, SPI, USB, RS-232/485)

  • Schematic/PWB/PWA development in Altium aligned to rigorous component libraries and internal processes

  • Circuit modeling and simulation using P-Spice (Altium MixedSim), MATLAB/Simulink, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, PLECS, and/or PSIM

  • Hardware bring-up and lab validation of prototypes; data capture and performance verification

  • Standards competency: MIL-STD-461/464, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810; RTCA/DO standards including DAL certifications (DO-160, DO-178, DO-254)

  • Requirements/specification authoring and change control; DOORS preferred

  • Root cause and corrective action methodologies

  • Project management experience across schedule, cost, and technical risk

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering

  • Aerospace actuator and motor-controller product experience

  • Familiarity with SAE ARP4754 and ARP4761 (safety and development processes)

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the full product lifecycle for actuation and motor-control electronics from proposal, architecture, and trade studies through qualification and sustainment

  • Generate requirements, design schematics/PCBs, and perform analyses for analog/digital power and control circuitry

  • Develop test plans, execute integration and verification, and document results to certification standards

  • Build and maintain disciplined component libraries; produce clean, legible schematics and manufacturing artifacts in Altium

  • Model and simulate control/power electronics to de-risk designs and optimize performance and efficiency

  • Validate intended operation in the lab; iterate designs based on test data and compliance findings

  • Produce specifications, reports, and proposal inputs; manage requirements and traceability in DOORS

  • Participate in pre-contract technical discussions, capability briefings, and trade studies including schedule/cost implications

  • Review and qualify vendors for capability, quality, and schedule alignment

  • Collaborate with program management, product support, manufacturing, and quality to meet technical, cost, and delivery targets
