Responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints to repair, install, fabricate, and test shipboard piping systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with apprenticeship diploma, vocational courses, or technical school; military or civilian marine piping experience in a repair department or shipyard.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience.

  • Proficiency in setup, alignment, and operation of portable and hand tools used in the trade.

  • Intermediate knowledge of shipboard piping systems, repair and installation practices, pipe bending, alignments, troubleshooting, and blueprint reading.

  • Qualification in multiple brazing processes.

  • Ability to travel.

Preferred Skills

  • Current active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to corporate, federal, state, and local safety regulations before operating machinery.

  • Follow detailed repair procedures and instructions including QA Workbooks, work package steps, RECs, CWPs, FWPs, and TGIs.

  • Notify Foreman of any unsatisfactory conditions identified during production operations.

  • Ensure control and responsibility for Level-1 material controls in accordance with instructions.

  • Perform installation, repair, overhaul, or modification of piping systems and components such as valves, compressors, reducers, and filters.

  • Prepare and install equipment or system alterations (TEMPALTs, SHIPALTs, ORDALTs) in compliance with directives, drawings, and MILSPECs.

  • Layout materials for pipe bending operations and machine parts to achieve proper joint design per Technical Work Documents.

  • Fabricate and install fixtures, jigs, supports, and targets to ensure proper alignment during welding.

  • Perform flushing and cleaning of piping systems and components in accordance with TWD.

  • Conduct pressure testing of completed piping systems as specified in TWD.



Pay Details: $24.00 to $35.00 per hour
