Seeking an experienced aerospace quality professional with expertise in AS9100 to perform first article inspections for aircraft engine components.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) in an aerospace manufacturing environment

  • Strong expertise in AS9100 standards and compliance

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including balloon drawings

  • Experience with inspection software such as Discus, InspectionXpert, or Visual FAIR (Discus preferred but not required)

  • Knowledge of GD&T symbols and dimensional inspection requirements

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred, but not required

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with AS9102 reporting requirements

  • Experience with metal seals, flanges, bracketry, and related aerospace components

  • Understanding of 2D and 3D CAD model extraction for inspection planning

  • Ability to work with automated ballooning processes for inspection documentation

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9100 and AS9102 requirements

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for inspection planning

  • Utilize inspection software to automate ballooning and extract dimensional and GD&T requirements

  • Prepare accurate and timely inspection reports for military and commercial aircraft engine components

  • Ensure compliance with customer, industry, and internal quality standards

  • Support efforts to reduce backlog and increase inspection throughput in production



Pay Details: $37.00 to $50.00 per hour
