Seeking an experienced systems engineer with specialized expertise in security and cryptography for the design, development, and certification of National Security systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline; Masters degree preferred

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in systems engineering for Information Assurance systems/products

  • Active US Government security clearance (DOD SECRET minimum)

  • US Citizenship required

  • Full understanding of the systems engineering process from concept through testing

  • Proficiency in architecture development, functional analysis, requirements allocation & traceability, trade-off studies, system synthesis, and system evaluation (integration & verification testing)

  • Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Transmission Layer Security (TLS), and certificate/key management

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of Key Management Systems, including Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) for End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) design

  • Proven experience in architecture, design, analysis, integration, and test of NSA Approved Type 1 Certified systems or equipment

  • Ability to act as a subject matter expert in Information Assurance, Security, and Cryptography

  • Advanced security architecture development skills, with ability to make complex design trade-offs affecting system security

  • Experience negotiating security requirements with NSA Technical Evaluators

  • Familiarity with NSA TSRD, IASRD, and FSDA requirements and processes

  • Experience developing NSA Security Evaluation Document (SED) CDRLs for multiple programs

  • Working knowledge of Type 1, Suite A, Suite B, and Commercial Cryptographic algorithms (symmetric and asymmetric)

  • Experience with Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • Cybersecurity credential (e.g., CISSP)

Responsibilities:

  • Apply security and cryptography expertise throughout the systems engineering process

  • Perform concept of operations development, requirements decomposition/synthesis, and architecture development/analysis

  • Plan and execute security testing for National Security systems

  • Ensure timely, budget-compliant, and low-risk delivery of certified solutions

  • Develop and integrate Information Assurance solutions for Defense and Intelligence community customers

  • Support NSA certification processes and compliance requirements



Pay Details: $75.00 to $85.00 per hour
