Support the health and welfare of research animals in a pre-clinical setting through medical care, data collection, and regulatory compliance under the direction of veterinary staff.

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience

  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) strongly preferred

  • Experience with pigs, dogs, and sheep in pre-clinical environments

  • Proficiency in drug dose calculations

  • Knowledge and experience with anesthesia techniques

  • Experience with GDP documentation and GLP-regulated studies

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of pharmacological drug classes used in veterinary medicine

  • Familiarity with clinical pathology sample processing

  • Experience with all drug administration routes: PO, IM, SQ, IV, intradermal, and transdermal

  • Knowledge of regulatory and SOP compliance procedures

  • Ability to support post-operative and chronic procedure care

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide preventative and routine care including physical exams, vaccinations, and dental prophylaxis

  • Administer medications and monitor animals’ physiological conditions

  • Maintain and document treatment records, drug logs, and data forms

  • Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery support

  • Conduct post-operative pain assessments and apply supportive treatments

  • Process, ship, and receive clinical pathology and necropsy specimens

  • Assist in necropsies, document pathology findings, and ensure accurate recordkeeping

  • Clean lab and kennel areas, assist with animal care, and report health concerns

  • Ensure animals receive proper enrichment and social housing

  • Support study design, scheduling, and equipment setup

  • Maintain inventory of veterinary and lab supplies

  • Communicate project status and collaborate with veterinarians and study teams

  • Apply GLP, GDP, and regulatory knowledge in all laboratory practices



Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
