Animal Medicine Technician
Support the health and care of research animals in a pre-clinical environment while ensuring compliance with veterinary protocols, regulatory standards, and study requirements.
Job Requirements:

Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
-
1–2 years of related experience
-
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) strongly preferred
-
Experience working with pigs, dogs, and sheep in a pre-clinical setting
-
Proficiency with drug dose calculations and administration
-
Knowledge of anesthesia techniques and monitoring
-
Experience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and GLP studies
Preferred Skills:
-
Familiarity with pharmacological drug classes used in veterinary medicine
-
Ability to administer drugs via PO, IM, SQ, IV, intradermal, and transdermal routes
-
Experience with post-operative care and chronic procedure support
-
Knowledge of clinical pathology processes and sample handling
-
Understanding of regulatory compliance documentation and data collection protocols
Job Responsibilities:
-
Maintain and support research animal health under veterinary or study-specific guidance
-
Administer preventative care including vaccinations, exams, and sample collections
-
Monitor animals under anesthesia and respond to physiological changes
-
Perform and document treatments, drug administrations, and surgical recoveries
-
Record all observations, treatments, and procedures in compliance with SOPs and regulations
-
Process and send clinical pathology samples

Ensure proper enrichment and social housing for animals
-
Maintain clean and organized laboratory and kennel environments
-
Assist in necropsies and pathology assessments, including specimen handling and documentation
-
Coordinate inventory and manage lab equipment maintenance
-
Assist with study design, scheduling, and equipment setup

Communicate clearly with veterinarians, study sponsors, and cross-functional teams through electronic records and verbal updates
Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
