Senior-level controls engineering role focused on designing, programming, and commissioning Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI systems for industrial automation projects.


Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in controls and automation engineering.

  • Ability to program Allen-Bradley PLCs from scratch and modify existing code.

  • Ability to design, troubleshoot, install, and commission controls, PLCs, and HMIs.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

  • Familiarity with NEC, JIC, and other accepted electrical codes and practices.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%–30% of the time.

  • BS or MS degree in Engineering or related field; AAS degree considered with 20+ years of controls/automation experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and related Rockwell software (RSLogix/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, etc.).

  • Experience with HMI platforms such as FactoryTalk View, PanelView, or similar.

  • Background in commissioning automated systems at customer sites.

  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.).

  • Experience integrating PLCs with drives, motion control, and safety systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Program Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs from scratch and update or improve existing codebases.

  • Design and develop control system architectures, including PLC, HMI, and related hardware.

  • Read and apply electrical schematics to support panel wiring, field installation, and troubleshooting.

  • Install, start up, and commission control systems at customer facilities.

  • Diagnose and resolve control system issues, including hardware, software, and field wiring problems.

  • Ensure designs and installations comply with NEC, JIC, and other relevant codes and standards.

  • Provide on-site and remote support for system upgrades, modifications, and optimizations.

  • Document control logic, system configurations, and as-built changes for project records.

Pay: 90k-110k
