Design Engineer (Hydraulics)
Summary: Seeking a Design Engineer with expertise in hydraulics and heavy equipment manufacturing for system development and testing.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2 to 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer/Product Engineer in heavy equipment manufacturing
- Understanding of Engineering Mechanics, Air Compressors, Engines, Hydraulics, and Power Transmission
- Proficiency in 3D Modeling CAD packages (Unigraphics-NX preferred)
- Basic ability to perform FEA
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of system design including Mechanical Design, Hydraulics, Electronic Controls, engines, compressors, and coolers
- Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management Systems (Teamcenter preferred)
- Familiarity with air and hydraulic schematics
- Experience with Hydraulic Actuators, Pumps, Valves, vibration problems of rotating components, large fabricated structures, weldments
Responsibilities:
- Work within Sandvik safety management program
- Design systems including engines, air compressors, coolers & power transmission components; pipe routings for cooling systems; hose routings; mounts for engines/compressors
- Document designs in models/drawings/Bill of Materials
- Act as technical lead for product lines/projects
- Ensure BOM accuracy during engineering releases
- Substantiate design through calculations using knowledge of mechanics/materials/machine elements design/application
- Create detailed part/assembly drawings with welding instructions/dimensions/tolerances
- Conduct cross-functional design reviews where applicable
- Write ECNs conveying engineering changes from new designs/revisions
- Maintain technical coordination/support with System Leads/Engineering Manager/other departments for standards/quality/on-time completion/customer requirements
Pay Details: $30.00 to $33.00 per hour
