Principal Embedded Software Engineer
Summary: Seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer with expertise in embedded firmware development, RTOS, and regulated products for strategic planning and product lifecycle management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of experience in software and embedded firmware development (C/C++)
- Experience leading significant portions of product firmware development from inception to market launch
- 3+ years of Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) experience
- Regulated industry experience
- Thorough knowledge of Embedded System Design and regulated products
- Experience with diagnostic and algorithm implementation (e.g. Matlab)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Tessy)
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of high hazard applications such as Industrial Life Safety, SIL2
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning, concept generation, architecture definition for reliable designs
- Capture requirements for regulated products
- Collaborate with hardware engineers for Hardware/Firmware integration strategies
- Manage DevOps tools ensuring traceability from requirements to test cases
- Act as Product Owner using Agile methodology for software/firmware development
- Comply with development processes, lead technical reviews, implement source code compliant with standards
- Ensure code documentation, testing, and control are rigorous
- Unit test source code using various tools like IDEs and analyzers
- Develop metrics to track progress and identify improvement areas
Pay Details: $49.00 to $66.00 per hour
