Design Engineer role responsible for mechanical and electrical system design, build support, and testing for heavy construction and mobile equipment in a Research and Development environment.


Job Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural Engineering, or related field

  • Proficiency with CAD tools (CREO strongly preferred)

  • Minimum 1 year of design experience with sheet metal and weldments

  • Eligibility to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen

  • Local or regional (Midwest) candidates strongly preferred

  • Experience or internships related to mobile equipment, heavy construction, agriculture, heavy truck, crane, ATVs, or similar equipment


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with electrical wire harness design and routing

  • Experience using CAPITAL HARNESS or CREO for harness design

  • AAS degree with strong relevant experience in mechanical or electrical design

  • Experience supporting R&D activities for mobile or off-road equipment


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical design and engineering activities for heavy construction equipment in an R&D environment

  • Advance new ideas and technologies on heavy equipment, from concept through validation

  • Design components and assemblies including weldments, sheet metal parts, and related structures

  • Support design of electrical systems including wire harness design and routing

  • Contribute to build and test phases for prototypes and production-intent equipment

  • Produce and maintain CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation for assigned designs

  • Collaborate with R&D, test, manufacturing, and other technical teams to ensure designs meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability requirements



Pay Details: $29.00 to $39.00 per hour
