Wire EDM Operator / Programmer
Wire EDM Machinist responsible for setup, operation, inspection, and routine maintenance of electrical discharge machining equipment used to produce precision tooling components.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

5+ years of experience in a similar machining or tool and die manufacturing environment.

Experience reading blueprints, sketches, CAD files, or CAM files.

Experience operating wire EDM equipment.

Knowledge of metalworking and drafting fundamentals.

Ability to perform dimensional calculations involving size, shape, and tolerances.
-
Experience using micrometers, comparators, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and related inspection equipment.

Ability to use common hand and manufacturing tools.

Strong mathematical skills.

Ability to lift or push 50–250 pounds with assistance as required.
Preferred Skills
-
Coursework in blueprint reading, metalworking, or drafting.

Tool and die manufacturing experience.

Experience operating multiple wire EDM machines simultaneously.

Experience planning unattended EDM operations.
-
Experience with CAD/CAM-supported machining processes.

Experience operating additional machining or manufacturing equipment.
Job Responsibilities
-
Work from blueprints, sketches, CAD files, and CAM files.
-
Set up and operate electrical discharge machines for precision tooling components.
-
Perform basic wire EDM functions, including removing slugs from workpieces.
-
Plan machine workloads to maximize unattended EDM operation.

Operate multiple wire EDM machines as production requirements dictate.
-
Perform routine maintenance on wire EDM equipment.
-
Measure, inspect, and test completed components for dimensional conformance and defects.
-
Verify component dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances.

Use micrometers, comparators, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and load test equipment.

Record labor time accurately for each assigned job.

Route completed components to die assembly, shipping, or subsequent manufacturing operations.

Support internal and external manufacturing requirements as needed.

Inspect work areas and equipment for safety or operational issues.

Operate additional manufacturing equipment in other departments as required.
Pay Details: $25.00 to $45.00 per hour
