Summary: Engineering Manager responsible for leading manufacturing and sustaining engineering activities, resolving production and reliability issues, supporting new product development, and managing an engineering and technician team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 12+ years of experience, or graduate degree with 9+ years of experience.

  • Experience managing engineering teams in a functional leadership role.

  • Experience managing teams of engineers and technicians.

  • Strong electrical engineering background in areas such as analog, digital, logic, power supply, or RF design.

  • Experience reading and developing circuit diagrams.

  • Experience using electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing and sustaining engineering activities.

  • Experience with root cause analysis, failure analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Experience supporting component obsolescence and production issue resolution.

  • Experience with reliability testing and technical report evaluation.

  • Experience maintaining engineering drawings, bills of materials, and assembly procedures.

  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).

  • Experience with VAVE activities and/or Lean Six Sigma principles.

  • Project management experience supporting multiple concurrent engineering initiatives.

  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience with aerospace, military, or space-based electronic systems.

  • Experience supporting New Product Development programs.

  • Experience with component lifecycle and obsolescence management.

  • Experience defining engineering development processes.

  • Experience with cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of approximately 8–10 engineers and 2–3 technicians.

  • Lead manufacturing, supply chain, and sustaining engineering support activities.

  • Support New Product Development as the manufacturing engineering subject matter expert.

  • Apply Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test principles during product development.

  • Lead troubleshooting of production, material, component, and equipment issues.

  • Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations.

  • Develop and implement corrective actions.

  • Support component obsolescence resolution and replacement activities.

  • Lead VAVE and cost-reduction engineering initiatives.

  • Plan engineering development activities and manage concurrent project schedules.

  • Define and maintain local engineering development processes.

  • Develop technical specifications and engineering documentation.

  • Coordinate and evaluate product reliability testing.

  • Maintain engineering drawings, bills of materials, and assembly procedures.

  • Support manufacturing process improvements and production efficiency initiatives.

  • Coordinate engineering activities with Product Management, Sourcing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production Operations.

Pay: 120k-140k/year
