Develops, sets up, optimizes, and troubleshoots complex CNC Swiss machining processes for high-precision components in regulated manufacturing environments.

Job Requirements

  • 7–10 years of CNC Swiss machining experience.
  • 5+ years of independent CNC Swiss programming and machine setup experience.
  • Advanced experience programming Swiss-style lathes such as Citizen, Tsugami, Tornos, or similar equipment.
  • Mastery of G-code and M-code programming.
  • Experience programming complex multi-axis machining operations.
  • Advanced proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam or Deco.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar platforms.
  • Experience synchronizing main and sub-spindles and configuring live tooling.
  • Experience with high-pressure coolant systems.
  • Proficiency with GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience maintaining machining tolerances as tight as ±0.0005".
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections and in-process dimensional inspections.
  • Experience using CMMs, vision systems, and manual metrology equipment.
  • Experience machining materials such as titanium, Inconel, and 17-4 PH stainless steel.
  • Experience working within AS9100, ISO 13485, or similarly regulated manufacturing environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Citizen, Tsugami, or Tornos Swiss machines.
  • Experience with Mastercam and Deco.
  • Experience optimizing feeds, speeds, tooling, and toolpaths.
  • Experience with vibration mitigation and thermal compensation.
  • Aerospace or medical device machining experience.
  • Experience providing technical guidance to CNC machinists and operators.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, simulate, and implement complex multi-axis CNC programs for Swiss-style lathes.
  • Perform complete machine setups, including main and sub-spindle synchronization, live tooling, workholding, and coolant configuration.
  • Create and modify G-code and M-code programs for production machining.
  • Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle time and improve tool life.
  • Analyze speeds, feeds, cutting conditions, and toolpath efficiency.
  • Maintain dimensional tolerances and machining requirements according to engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Perform First Article Inspections and support in-process quality monitoring.
  • Use CMMs, vision systems, micrometers, and other metrology equipment to verify component conformance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, setup, and CNC programming issues.
  • Resolve machining challenges related to vibration, thermal conditions, and difficult-to-machine materials.
  • Develop machining strategies for titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, and other precision materials.
  • Support compliance with applicable aerospace, medical, and manufacturing quality requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior machinists and CNC operators on programming, setup, machining, and quality requirements.


Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $105,000.00 per year
