Programs, sets up, optimizes, and troubleshoots multi-axis CNC Swiss-style lathes for high-precision production.

Job Requirements

  • Seven to ten years of CNC Swiss machining experience
  • Minimum of five years of independent CNC programming and machine setup experience
  • Advanced knowledge of G-code and M-code
  • Experience programming Citizen, Tsugami, Tornos, or comparable Swiss-style lathes
  • Advanced proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam or Deco
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks
  • Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5
  • Experience maintaining tolerances as tight as ±0.0005 inches
  • Experience performing first article inspections and in-process inspections
  • Experience using CMMs, vision systems, and manual metrology equipment
  • Experience machining titanium, Inconel, 17-4 PH stainless steel, or comparable materials

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working within AS9100 aerospace manufacturing environments
  • Experience working within ISO 13485 medical manufacturing environments
  • Experience synchronizing main and sub-spindles
  • Experience configuring live tooling and high-pressure coolant systems
  • Experience with vibration dampening and thermal compensation
  • Experience optimizing speeds, feeds, tool paths, and tool life

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, simulate, and implement complex multi-axis G-code programs for CNC Swiss-style lathes
  • Program components using CAM software
  • Perform complete machine setups for main spindles, sub-spindles, live tooling, and coolant systems
  • Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve tool life
  • Analyze speeds, feeds, tooling, and tool-path efficiency
  • Maintain dimensional tolerances as tight as ±0.0005 inches
  • Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks
  • Use CMMs, vision systems, and manual inspection tools to verify part conformance
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, tooling, and programming issues
  • Apply vibration dampening and thermal compensation methods
  • Resolve machining challenges associated with difficult materials
  • Provide technical guidance to machinists and machine operators
  • Support compliance with production specifications and quality standards


Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year
