Mechanical Design Engineer
Designs and maintains industrial process cooling and heating equipment using 2D and 3D CAD software, engineering documentation, and ERP-based bill of materials systems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- One to five years of mechanical engineering experience, including co-op or internship experience
- Experience with SolidWorks or comparable 3D modeling software
- Experience with AutoCAD or comparable 2D drafting software
- Experience developing detailed 2D and 3D models of complex parts, assemblies, and schematics
- Knowledge of standard engineering documentation practices
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Skills
- Experience using ERP business software
- Experience designing industrial equipment
- Experience designing piping systems
- Experience designing sheet metal components
- Experience designing weldments and mechanical assemblies
- Experience with electrical components and electrical schematics
- Experience creating and maintaining bills of materials
- Experience with engineering change notice processes
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex assemblies, component models, and detailed drawings in SolidWorks
- Develop custom and standard industrial process cooling and heating equipment
- Create and maintain engineering documentation
- Build and maintain bill of materials structures for standard products and custom job releases
- Enter and maintain product information within ERP software
- Support new product development and customer unit production
- Provide technical support for existing product maintenance
- Create specification drawings for purchased components
- Review purchased components for performance, quality, and appearance requirements
- Coordinate technical component solutions with vendors
- Implement product improvements and cost-reduction changes through the engineering change notice process
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing, purchasing, and sales departments
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
