CNC Technical Specialist

CNC Technical Support Engineer responsible for diagnosing and resolving CNC machine, control, electrical, PLC, hardware, and software issues while supporting field service, parts, training, and technical documentation.

Job Requirements

• 3–5 years of CNC machine tool service experience.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and CNC controls.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-related issues.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical, hardware, and software problems on CNC equipment.
• Experience identifying replacement parts for machine tool systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to travel up to 50% during the first year for training and product familiarization.
• Ability to travel up to 15% after the first year as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting multiple CNC machine tool platforms.
• Experience providing remote technical support by phone.
• Experience supporting field service engineers and distributors.
• Experience developing machine start-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service documentation.
• Experience creating and delivering technical training programs.
• Experience supporting machine controls, PLCs, electrical systems, and replacement part identification.
• Experience assisting with machine repairs at customer locations.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for CNC machine tools, controls, hardware, software, PLCs, and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, control, and software issues.
• Identify recurring equipment and service issues and support corrective action planning.
• Maintain technical knowledge of supported machine tool product lines.
• Identify and recommend replacement parts for machine repairs.
• Coordinate technical issue resolution with field service, engineering, distributors, and other support functions.
• Travel to equipment locations to assist with machine diagnosis and repair when required.
• Provide technical training on CNC machines, controls, service procedures, and new technologies.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, machine start-up guides, demonstration guides, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting documents, and service bulletins.
• Follow up on and expedite parts orders required for urgent repairs.
• Develop and deliver technical service training programs.
• Support troubleshooting activities intended to reduce equipment downtime.
• Maintain technical service records and supporting documentation.

Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
