Manual Machinist
CNC Machinist responsible for operating machine shop equipment, interpreting technical drawings, applying precision tolerances, and performing equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
Job Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge and application of ISO standard tolerancing systems.
- Knowledge and application of ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Ability to read, write, and understand G-code and M-code.
- Knowledge of machine shop safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to follow documented safe work instructions.
- Ability to operate equipment while standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work at various equipment heights and levels.
- Ability to complete a mechanical or machinist aptitude assessment.
- Ability to complete additional college-level technical coursework when required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using dial calipers.
- Experience using micrometers.
- Experience using dial indicators.
- Experience with inspection and calibration equipment.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of piping systems.
- Knowledge of boiler and steam systems.
- Preventive maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of 5S workplace standards.
- Experience performing operator maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
- Knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate machine shop equipment according to technical drawings and work instructions.
- Interpret blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
- Apply ISO and ASME Y14.5 tolerancing requirements during machining and inspection activities.
- Read and modify G-code and M-code as required for machining operations.
- Measure finished components using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision inspection equipment.
- Verify machined parts against dimensional and tolerance requirements.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machining equipment.
- Clean, inspect, and lubricate equipment as part of operator maintenance activities.
- Identify and address mechanical equipment issues within assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain machine shop work areas according to applicable 5S and safety requirements.
Pay Details: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
