Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Experience designing small-signal analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power-electronics circuits
  • Experience developing electronics for lithium-ion battery packs, battery management systems, or energy-storage products
  • Knowledge of multi-cell rechargeable battery control, monitoring, and protection
  • Experience developing engineering specifications and product-performance test plans
  • Experience conducting safety, compliance, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility testing
  • Knowledge of UL, FCC, military, or comparable product standards
  • Experience developing schematics and printed circuit board layouts
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer, OrCAD, or comparable electronic design software
  • Experience creating circuit-card assembly drawings and bills of materials
  • Ability to assemble and modify prototypes containing surface-mount components
  • Ability to work onsite daily

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with high-voltage and high-power electronics
  • Experience designing motive-power or grid-energy-storage systems
  • Experience with intelligent chargers or battery-control electronics
  • Experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD or comparable mechanical design software
  • Experience supporting hardware bring-up with embedded software teams
  • Experience working with external laboratories, suppliers, and contract manufacturers
  • Knowledge of component selection, alternate-part qualification, and obsolescence management
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability and Design to Cost methods
  • Experience developing high-reliability or safety-critical electronics

Job Responsibilities

  • Design electronic hardware for lithium battery management and energy-storage systems
  • Develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power-electronics circuits
  • Create schematics, PCB layouts, circuit-card assembly drawings, and bills of materials
  • Develop hardware design specifications and hardware design description documents
  • Build, modify, and evaluate electronic prototypes
  • Conduct experimental testing and analyze hardware performance data
  • Prepare engineering test reports, conclusions, and recommendations
  • Develop test plans and procedures for production test-system development
  • Develop and execute hardware integration, verification, validation, and qualification plans
  • Coordinate product testing with external laboratories
  • Verify compliance with applicable environmental, electrical safety, industrial, military, EMC, and EMI standards
  • Support device bring-up, firmware integration, and system-level development
  • Troubleshoot circuit, board, subsystem, and system-level hardware issues
  • Provide hardware design and troubleshooting support to manufacturing operations
  • Lead and participate in internal and external design reviews
  • Coordinate electronic packaging requirements with mechanical engineering
  • Support supplier and contract-manufacturer technical activities
  • Assist with component and vendor selection
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for electronic components and related materials
  • Investigate component obsolescence and qualify replacement parts
  • Participate in DFMEA activities with internal teams and suppliers
  • Support DFM and DTC reviews to align designs with manufacturing, assembly, and cost requirements
  • Support products throughout concept development, detailed design, validation, production release, and manufacturing


Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
