Mechanical Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical systems and production equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in mechanical, hydraulic, piping, and pneumatic fields in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment and piping systems
  • Experience completing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing plant machinery and mechanical systems
  • Experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, piping, boiler, steam, cooling tower, and pneumatic equipment
  • Experience with mobile equipment certification requirements, including:
    • Powered industrial trucks
    • Aerial platforms
    • Related mobile equipment
  • Ability to become RCRA trained
  • Ability to work at various heights and equipment levels
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Skills

  • Bearing installation experience
  • Shaft installation and alignment experience
  • Coupler installation and alignment experience
  • Gearbox rebuild and installation experience
  • Fluid pump rebuild and installation experience
  • Basic maintenance welding experience, including:
    • MIG welding
    • Stick welding
    • TIG welding
  • Experience threading and running black pipe, stainless steel pipe, and copper pipe
  • Industrial motor installation, alignment, and balancing experience
  • Industrial machine rigging and installation experience
  • Industrial equipment lubrication experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA equipment startup and shutdown requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Support production through maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and machines throughout the plant
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, piping, boiler, steam, cooling tower, and pneumatic equipment and systems
  • Install bearings, shafts, and couplers
  • Perform shaft and coupler alignment
  • Rebuild and install gearboxes
  • Rebuild and install fluid pumps
  • Perform basic maintenance welding on various metals
  • Thread and run black pipe, stainless steel pipe, and copper pipe
  • Install, align, and balance industrial motors
  • Support industrial machine rigging and installation requirements
  • Maintain lubrication requirements for industrial equipment
  • Install, start up, and shut down equipment according to machine activation, shutdown, and OSHA requirements
  • Advise operators on procedures and requirements for working with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components
  • Maintain required performance and maintenance records for assigned equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions
  • Assist maintenance and operations personnel with technical troubleshooting


Pay Details: $32.00 to $38.00 per hour
