Senior CAD Designer responsible for 3D design, modeling, and production development of automotive headlamp systems and components using Creo.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 10+ years of professional CAD design experience in the automotive industry.

  • Extensive experience designing automotive headlamps.

  • Expert-level proficiency with Creo.

  • Experience developing complex 3D CAD models from concept through production release.

  • Experience creating detailed 2D engineering drawings.

  • Experience with Class A surface development.

  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

  • Experience creating and managing complex CAD assemblies.

  • Experience performing interference checks, clearance analysis, and tolerance stack analysis.

  • Experience applying GD&T to engineering drawings.

  • Experience maintaining parametric associativity, feature tree organization, and CAD standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with NX CAD software.

  • Experience with exterior automotive lighting design.

  • Knowledge of automotive lighting regulatory requirements.

  • Experience working with styling surface data.

  • Experience supporting optical, electrical, manufacturing, and quality engineering activities.

  • Experience optimizing designs for cost, weight, performance, and manufacturability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead 3D CAD design and modeling of automotive headlamp systems and components using Creo.

  • Develop designs from concept through production release.

  • Translate styling surface data and engineering requirements into manufacturable 3D models.

  • Create and maintain detailed 2D engineering drawings.

  • Develop and maintain Class A surfaces and complex CAD geometry.

  • Manage CAD feature trees, parametric relationships, and assembly structures.

  • Perform interference checks, clearance studies, and tolerance stack analyses.

  • Apply GD&T, material specifications, and manufacturing notes to engineering drawings.

  • Conduct design reviews and identify potential design or manufacturing issues.

  • Develop design changes to improve cost, weight, performance, and manufacturability.

  • Support integration of optical, electrical, styling, manufacturing, and quality requirements.

  • Maintain CAD documentation in accordance with established engineering standards.



Pay Details: $50.00 to $55.00 per hour
