PCB Electronic Buyer
Leads material purchasing, supplier development, vendor negotiations, and buyer oversight within the printed circuit board industry.
Job Requirements
- 5–15 years of purchasing experience within the printed circuit board industry
- Direct experience purchasing PCB materials and related manufacturing supplies
- Experience developing and maintaining long-term supplier relationships
- Experience negotiating pricing, terms, lead times, and supply agreements with vendors
- Experience evaluating supplier performance, capabilities, and capacity
- Experience leading or training a junior buyer
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing materials, supply chains, and vendor markets
- Stable employment history within purchasing, electronics manufacturing, or PCB-related organizations
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working in a small or mid-sized manufacturing company
- Experience with strategic sourcing and supplier qualification
- Experience managing material availability, cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Knowledge of PCB laminates, copper-clad materials, chemicals, components, tooling, and production consumables
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or purchasing systems
Job Responsibilities
- Purchase materials and supplies used in printed circuit board manufacturing
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with qualified suppliers
- Negotiate supplier pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contractual conditions
- Identify and qualify new vendors based on cost, quality, capacity, and delivery requirements
- Monitor supplier performance and address material, quality, or delivery issues
- Develop sourcing strategies for critical PCB materials
- Maintain continuity of supply for production requirements
- Review purchasing data, forecasts, inventory levels, and material demand
- Issue and manage purchase orders
- Coordinate material requirements with production, planning, engineering, and quality functions
- Lead and train a junior buyer
- Review buyer activity and purchasing documentation
- Support cost-reduction and vendor-development initiatives
- Maintain supplier records, pricing agreements, and purchasing documentation
- Resolve shortages, late deliveries, pricing discrepancies, and supplier nonconformance issues
Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
