Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of product management experience with physical or hardware-based products
  • Experience with electrical systems, wiring harnesses, vehicle lighting, or related electrical products
  • Experience within transportation, commercial vehicle, automotive, or related industrial markets
  • Experience managing products through market research, definition, development, launch, growth, and end-of-life
  • Experience developing pricing strategies and product business cases
  • Experience performing margin analysis, SKU profitability analysis, and financial evaluations
  • Experience defining product requirements with engineering teams
  • Ability to work on-site in Madison, Indiana
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with LED lighting, signal lighting, warning systems, or commercial vehicle electrical products
  • Knowledge of DOT, FMVSS, SAE, and FMCSA regulations and standards
  • Knowledge of OEM, fleet, and aftermarket distribution channels
  • Experience conducting competitive and market analysis
  • Experience developing sales enablement materials and product training
  • Experience leading value analysis and value engineering initiatives
  • Experience supporting cost-reduction programs, including VAVE or MPV activities
  • Experience developing long-term product strategies and roadmaps
  • Experience presenting technical and financial product information to customers, sales teams, and executive leadership

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage vehicle electrical and hardware products throughout the complete product lifecycle
  • Conduct customer, market, industry, and competitive research
  • Identify product opportunities and define product positioning
  • Develop product requirements, specifications, and business cases
  • Coordinate with engineering teams during new product development
  • Establish pricing strategies based on market conditions, costs, margins, and competitive positioning
  • Analyze product margins, SKU profitability, sales performance, and lifecycle costs
  • Develop and maintain product strategies, roadmaps, and launch plans
  • Coordinate product launches with engineering, operations, marketing, and sales teams
  • Support product growth through pricing updates, market expansion, and portfolio optimization
  • Manage product discontinuation and end-of-life activities
  • Evaluate OEM, fleet, distributor, and aftermarket channel requirements
  • Monitor applicable transportation and vehicle-product regulations
  • Develop technical product documentation, presentations, and sales-support materials
  • Support customer meetings, product demonstrations, training, and industry events
  • Lead value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Recommend product modifications based on market feedback, financial performance, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility


Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
