Process Engineer responsible for developing, reviewing, and approving process engineering deliverables for mining, minerals, and metals projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution

  • 5+ years of process or chemical engineering experience in the mining, minerals, and metals sector

  • Experience developing process engineering deliverables

  • Experience reviewing and approving process engineering deliverables

  • Experience using process modeling and simulation software

  • Experience designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing process operations

  • Experience managing multiple project tasks and resources

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including:

    • Word

    • Excel

    • PowerPoint

    • Microsoft Windows

  • Experience supporting process engineering work in compliance with statutory, regulatory, and project specifications

  • Experience supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning activities

  • Experience with Process Flow Diagrams

  • Experience with Heat and Material Balances

  • Experience with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams

  • Experience with METSIM

  • Experience with Aspen HYSYS

  • Knowledge of process engineering codes, constructability, contract requirements, and cost optimization

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver process engineering services in accordance with project specifications, statutory requirements, regulatory requirements, schedules, and budgets

  • Identify and report changes to project scope

  • Assist with preparation of proposals, estimates, budgets, and schedules

  • Provide process engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities

  • Contribute to process studies and analyses

  • Recommend engineering actions based on studies and analyses

  • Assist with preparation of detailed designs, drawings, specifications, data, calculations, and reports

  • Develop, check, and approve process engineering deliverables

  • Serve as technical owner for assigned process engineering deliverables

  • Develop Process Flow Diagrams

  • Develop Heat and Material Balances

  • Develop Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams

  • Create process models using METSIM, Aspen HYSYS, Unisim Design, PipeFLO, or related simulation software

  • Perform line sizing, velocity, and pressure drop calculations

  • Perform equipment sizing calculations

  • Prepare equipment specifications for bulk separation vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, control valves, and PSVs

  • Prepare process engineering studies

  • Prepare process basis of design documents

  • Prepare technical reports

  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis for assigned projects

  • Review and comment on interdisciplinary deliverables

  • Review piping layouts, isometrics, 3D models, mechanical equipment specifications, and related design documents

  • Evaluate existing systems for upgrades or efficiency increases

  • Review internal and external design documents

  • Provide feedback on concept compliance, code compliance, contract requirements, constructability, cost optimization, and design package completeness

Pay: 65-80/hr

Pay Details: $65.00 to $80.00 per hour
