SW V/V Engineer - Remote/Onsite work scheduled

Performs software verification, validation, and testing of existing C++ code to ensure compliance with DO-178 airborne software certification standards and applicable engineering requirements.

Job Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required.

• Experience with DO-178 software development and certification standards.

• Proficiency in C++ programming.

• Experience with software Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.

• Experience testing and evaluating existing software code against technical requirements and certification standards.

• Knowledge of software testing methodologies, test execution, and defect identification.

• Ability to work a hybrid schedule, including 1–2 weeks onsite per month with remaining time remote.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DO-178B or DO-178C certification requirements.

• Background in aerospace, avionics, or safety-critical embedded software.

• Experience with requirements-based software testing.

• Knowledge of software verification documentation and traceability.

• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing.

• Familiarity with code coverage analysis and software certification testing.

• Experience using automated software testing and debugging tools.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform verification and validation testing of existing C++ software.

• Evaluate software functionality and compliance with DO-178 requirements.

• Develop and execute software test procedures based on established requirements.

• Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing as applicable.

• Analyze software code to identify defects, functional issues, and compliance gaps.

• Document test results, software defects, and verification findings.

• Review software requirements and verify implementation through testing.

• Support requirements traceability and software certification documentation.

• Investigate test failures and verify corrective actions through retesting.

• Maintain software test records and verification documentation in accordance with applicable engineering and certification standards.

• Support software quality assurance and certification readiness activities.

Pay Details: $54.00 to $72.00 per hour
