Engineering Lab Manager responsible for supporting RF/Microwave assembly, alignment, testing, documentation, test fixturing, and engineering lab operations from PCA level through system integration.

Job Requirements

  • Experience supporting assembly, alignment, and testing of RF/Microwave electronic assemblies

  • Experience with PCAs, modules, and top-level system integration

  • Experience developing in-process test procedures and data sheets

  • Experience designing and creating system interface test fixtures

  • Experience reviewing customer performance specifications and technical documentation

  • Knowledge of parts, materials, and process requirements

  • Experience supporting environmental testing including thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and EMI testing

  • Experience generating engineering documentation such as failure reports, DMRs, recovery test plans, engineering change notices, and end-item data packages

  • Experience managing test data storage, retention, and accessibility

  • Knowledge of RF/Microwave test equipment and tooling

  • Experience supporting engineers, technicians, and engineering associates with lab equipment and test resources

  • Technical understanding of passive RF designs, including power dividers and low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and crystal filters

  • Technical understanding of active RF designs, including oscillators, amplifiers, multipliers, phase-locked loops, and mixers

  • Knowledge of temperature compensation using PTC and NTC thermistors

  • Familiarity with EEE parts selection for space applications

  • Knowledge of component characterization, evaluation, screening, traceability, derating, and radiation requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting space or aerospace RF/Microwave programs

  • Experience with equipment rental and purchasing

  • Experience managing engineering lab tools and test equipment

  • Experience supporting customer data package reviews and acceptance

  • Experience with space-qualified EEE components and radiation-related requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Support assembly, alignment, and testing of RF/Microwave electronic assemblies from PCA level through system integration

  • Develop in-process test procedures and data sheets for PCAs, modules, and complete systems

  • Design and build system interface test fixturing

  • Review customer performance specifications and supplied technical documentation

  • Support parts, materials, and process requirements

  • Develop and support top-level system test requirements

  • Coordinate thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and EMI testing

  • Generate failure reports and discrepant material reports as required

  • Develop recovery test plans

  • Prepare engineering change notices for customer review and internal updates

  • Develop end-item data packages for customer review and acceptance

  • Maintain and organize engineering test data

  • Provide test tools and equipment required by engineering personnel

  • Coordinate test equipment rental and purchasing

  • Support technical evaluation of passive and active RF/Microwave designs

  • Support EEE parts selection, screening, traceability, derating, and space application requirements

Pay: 125000-150000/year
