Senior AI Platform Engineer responsible for building, deploying, integrating, and operating secure AI platforms, open-weight models, developer tooling, and agent-based systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Hands-on software and AI platform engineering experience

  • Advanced Python development experience

  • Experience with at least one of Go, Rust, or TypeScript

  • Experience building complex AI platforms and systems

  • Production experience deploying and operating open-weight models on self-managed infrastructure

  • Experience implementing AI platform services

  • Experience with sovereign model deployment

  • Experience building AI coding or developer tooling using large language models

  • Experience with code retrieval, context handling, and developer toolchain integration

  • Applied experience with LLM orchestration, retrieval, tool calling, and evaluation

  • Experience building and deploying MCP servers, tool-calling integrations, or equivalent agent-to-system connectors

  • Systems integration experience across APIs, event streams, data pipelines, and identity systems

  • Experience delivering complex technical systems into production environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering AI or software systems within the Department of Defense, intelligence community, or defense industrial base

  • Experience with authorization and accreditation processes

  • Experience operating within accredited, air-gapped, or restricted environments

  • Experience deploying sovereign AI models for mission users

  • Experience with fine-tuning, distillation, or model adaptation

  • Experience measuring performance improvements from model adaptation

  • Contributions to open-source AI projects

  • Published work involving AI agents, MCP, or open-weight model ecosystems

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and build complex AI platforms and supporting services

  • Deploy and operate open-weight models on self-managed infrastructure

  • Implement secure and scalable AI platform services

  • Develop sovereign model deployment capabilities

  • Build AI-powered coding and developer tools

  • Develop code retrieval, context management, and toolchain integration capabilities

  • Implement LLM orchestration, retrieval, tool calling, and evaluation workflows

  • Build and maintain MCP servers and agent-to-system integrations

  • Integrate AI platforms with APIs, event streams, data pipelines, and identity systems

  • Deploy AI models and platform capabilities into production environments

  • Support AI platform operations in restricted, accredited, or air-gapped environments

  • Develop and integrate model adaptation, fine-tuning, or distillation workflows as required



Pay Details: $130.00 to $150.00 per hour
