The CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer sets up, programs, and operates CNC milling and turning equipment to produce precision components and tooling to drawing specifications.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar CNC machining or programming position.

  • CNC programming training.

  • High school diploma, equivalent credential, or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience setting up and operating vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines.

  • Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling equipment.

  • Experience setting up multi-tasking turning centers.

  • Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls.

  • Knowledge of Virtual Gibbs.

  • Experience with manual CNC programming, including G-codes and M-codes.

  • Familiarity with DNC system operation.

  • Ability to read inch and metric engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Experience machining or fabricating precision tools and fixtures to tight tolerances and complex geometries.

  • Knowledge of material properties, including expansion rates, strength, hardness, and specialized machining requirements.

  • Experience using and maintaining precision measuring and inspection equipment.

Preferred Skills

  • CNC certification or CNC trade school training.

  • Prototyping experience.

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, including Just-in-Time practices.

  • Experience with setup time reduction initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines in accordance with inch and metric drawing specifications.

  • Perform setups on vertical and horizontal 3-axis and 4-axis CNC milling machines.

  • Perform setups on multi-tasking CNC turning centers.

  • Program CNC equipment using Virtual Gibbs, G-codes, M-codes, and applicable machine controls.

  • Operate Haas and Fanuc-controlled CNC equipment.

  • Machine and fabricate precision components, tooling, and fixtures to specified tolerances and geometries.

  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, dimensions, and geometric tolerances.

  • Select machining methods based on material properties and production requirements.

  • Use measuring tools and inspection devices to verify component dimensions and conformance.

  • Maintain measuring and inspection equipment used during production.

Pay: 27-36/hr
