Aerospace Quality Engineer responsible for quality assurance, nonconformance investigation, corrective action, inspection support, and compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering experience.

  • Experience in aerospace or military manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.

  • Knowledge of standard aerospace industry quality requirements.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis using tools such as Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Whys, and 8D.

  • Experience leading nonconformance investigations.

  • Experience supporting internal and external quality audits.

  • Experience reviewing technical documentation for aerospace manufacturing, inspection, and testing.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing facility safety requirements.

  • U.S. Person status as defined by applicable ITAR requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge or certification in J-STD-001 Space Addendum requirements.

  • Knowledge or certification in NASA-STD-8739.1 and/or NASA-STD-8739.4 requirements.

  • Polymerics experience.

  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 calibration requirements.

  • Experience performing inspections to J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 standards.

  • Experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings and schematics.

  • Experience interpreting mechanical drawings.

  • Quality assurance experience within aerospace or military programs.

  • Experience generating quality metrics, reports, and cause-and-effect analyses.

  • Experience supporting customer quality requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and approve manufacturing, inspection, and test methods and procedures for aerospace products.

  • Ensure manufacturing and quality documentation complies with applicable aerospace standards.

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize quality inspection data.

  • Perform root cause analysis for product and manufacturing defects.

  • Lead nonconformance investigations and corrective action activities.

  • Develop corrective actions that meet AS9100 requirements and reduce recurrence of defects.

  • Support compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.

  • Support internal and external quality audits.

  • Generate and maintain quality metrics and reporting.

  • Perform cause-and-effect analysis related to manufacturing and product quality issues.

  • Support customer and program quality activities.

  • Work with purchasing to ensure applicable quality requirements are flowed down to suppliers.

  • Review supplier, manufacturing, inspection, and test documentation for compliance.

  • Support inspection activities performed to J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and related aerospace requirements.

  • Support calibration compliance activities in accordance with applicable ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

Pay: 56-75/hr
