Quality Engineer
Quality Engineer responsible for developing manufacturing and inspection documentation, leading nonconformance investigations, performing root-cause analysis, and maintaining compliance with aerospace quality standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2–4 years of Quality Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 requirements.
- Knowledge of aerospace industry quality and manufacturing requirements.
- Knowledge and/or certification in J-STD-001 Space Addendum.
- Knowledge and/or certification in NASA-STD-8739.1 and/or NASA-STD-8739.3.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 calibration requirements.
- Experience performing inspections to J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610.
- Experience conducting root-cause analysis using tools such as Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Whys, and 8D.
- Experience supporting nonconformance investigations and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing facility safety requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Quality assurance experience in aerospace or military manufacturing.
- Experience interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Experience developing technical manufacturing, inspection, and test documentation.
- Experience supporting internal and external quality audits.
- Experience with quality metrics generation and reporting.
- Experience with Cause and Effect analysis.
- Experience supporting customer quality interfaces.
- Experience flowing quality requirements to suppliers and purchasing functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and approve manufacturing methods and procedures for fabrication, inspection, and testing of aerospace products.
- Ensure manufacturing and quality documentation meets applicable aerospace standards.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize inspection and quality data.
- Perform root-cause investigations for product and process issues.
- Lead nonconformance investigations and coordinate corrective actions.
- Verify corrective actions comply with AS9100 requirements.
- Support prevention of recurring defects through corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing functions to maintain AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliance.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Generate and report quality metrics.
- Perform Cause and Effect analysis and other structured quality investigations.
- Support customer quality requirements and program quality interfaces.
- Work with purchasing to ensure supplier quality requirements are properly flowed down.
- Review technical documentation for compliance with aerospace product requirements.
- Support inspections and quality activities to J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and applicable NASA workmanship standards.
Pay Details: $49.00 to $66.00 per hour
