Sr Fire Protection Engineer
Lead fire protection system analysis, design, code evaluation, and project execution for complex building and life safety projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Fire Protection Engineering license by examination issued by any U.S. state.
- 10+ years of professional experience in fire protection engineering.
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident required.
- Ability to travel approximately 20%.
- Experience analyzing existing fire protection systems.
- Experience designing fire suppression systems.
- Experience designing fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems.
- Experience performing building and fire code analysis.
- Project management experience supporting engineering projects.
Preferred Skills
- Experience performing peer reviews of fire protection engineering work.
- Experience developing technical research and engineering documentation.
- Experience with applicable NFPA standards and fire/life safety codes.
- Participation in professional fire protection organizations such as SFPE or NFPA.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze existing fire protection and life safety systems.
- Design new fire suppression systems.
- Design fire detection, alarm, and mass notification systems.
- Perform building and fire code analysis and interpretation.
- Develop fire protection calculations, technical documentation, and design deliverables.
- Manage fire protection engineering projects and technical deliverables.
- Coordinate technical requirements with project stakeholders.
- Perform research related to fire protection engineering, codes, and standards.
- Prepare technical findings and documentation for project use.
- Conduct peer reviews of fire protection engineering designs and work products.
- Support compliance with applicable building, fire, and life safety codes.
- Participate in applicable fire protection industry organizations and technical activities.
Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $175,000.00 per year
