Perform construction surveillance, compliance inspections, quality assurance reviews, and technical documentation to verify construction activities meet contract plans, specifications, codes, and workmanship requirements.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in construction surveillance, inspection, quality assurance, or related construction oversight.
- Experience reviewing construction work for compliance with plans, specifications, materials, workmanship, installation requirements, and construction methods.
- Experience preparing construction surveillance and inspection reports.
- Experience reviewing contract drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Experience supporting construction change orders and contract modifications.
- Experience developing inspection requirements and quality control methods.
- Experience documenting construction deficiencies, changed conditions, and corrective actions.
- Technical inspection experience in one or more construction disciplines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with medical gas systems and NFPA 99.
- Experience with life safety systems and NFPA 101.
- Electrical inspection experience involving NFPA 70 / National Electrical Code.
- Plumbing inspection experience involving International Plumbing Code requirements.
- Fire protection and alarm system experience involving NFPA 13 and NFPA 72.
- HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing experience using ASHRAE, AABC, or NEBB standards.
- Building commissioning experience.
- Experience inspecting communications, IT, nurse call, security, IDS/PACS, or ICD 705 systems.
- Experience with biomedical equipment including CT, PET, CATH, MRI, or related systems.
- Experience with patient lifts, elevators, pneumatic tube systems, sterilizers, laboratory equipment, or specialty building systems.
- Dredging inspection experience.
- Welding inspection experience.
- Painting or metalizing inspection experience.
- HAZWOPER, environmental sampling, 40-hour HTRW, and current 8-hour refresher training.
- Airfield paving or concrete inspection experience.
- Multi-discipline construction inspection experience.
- Experience preparing technical recommendations for construction changes.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform surveillance and inspection of active construction projects.
- Verify construction activities comply with contract drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and technical requirements.
- Inspect workmanship, materials, installation methods, and construction processes.
- Prepare detailed surveillance and inspection reports.
- Document deficiencies, nonconforming work, and changed field conditions.
- Review construction quality assurance programs and supporting documentation.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical requirements throughout construction.
- Identify discrepancies between field conditions and contract documents.
- Develop technical recommendations for corrective actions and construction changes.
- Support investigations associated with potential change orders.
- Prepare technical data and supporting documentation for construction modifications.
- Assist with preparation of change orders and contract modification documentation.
- Develop inspection requirements and quality control methods for assigned construction activities.
- Track corrective actions and verify resolution of identified deficiencies.
- Provide technical inspection findings and recommendations to project oversight personnel.
Pay Details: $33.00 to $45.00 per hour
