Job Requirements

  • All-around machinist certification or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Ability to operate conventional machine shop equipment.

  • Ability to operate numerically controlled machining equipment.

  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5M-1994.

  • Ability to perform mathematical, trigonometric, and geometric calculations required for machining and layout work.

  • Experience creating layouts for precision components and assemblies.

  • Ability to machine components, tools, jigs, fixtures, and assemblies.

  • Ability to perform precision grinding operations.

  • Ability to determine machining sequence and perform original or new setups.

  • Ability to read technical documentation and complete required calculations and layouts for products such as thermocouple rigid assemblies and electrical harnesses.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Skills

  • 0–1 year of previous industry-related machining experience.

  • Experience supporting mechanical, electromechanical, or electronic instrumentation manufacturing.

  • Experience developing or modifying tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience supporting new product introduction and legacy product improvements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and rework complete components and assemblies using conventional and numerically controlled machining equipment.

  • Set up and operate grinding equipment for precision grinding of tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and production components.

  • Perform original setups and determine required machining sequences.

  • Perform mathematical, trigonometric, and geometric calculations for machining and layout activities.

  • Create layouts for components, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and assemblies.

  • Support development and implementation of specialized manufacturing processes.

  • Develop and modify jigs, tooling, and fixtures for manufacturing, assembly, and test operations.

  • Support mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic instrument manufacturing processes.

  • Support Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering with new product development activities.

  • Support manufacturing process improvements for existing products.

  • Develop and maintain documentation associated with manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and product changes.

  • Apply ASME Y14.5M-1994 geometric tolerancing requirements during machining and inspection activities.

Pay: 22-30/hr

Pay Details: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour
