Night Shift Lathe Machinist

CNC Lathe Machinist responsible for complex multi-axis turning, machine setup, first article inspection, and precision machining of aerospace components and heat-resistant alloys.

Job Requirements

• Approximately 7 years of CNC machining experience.

• Strong CNC lathe machining experience, including C-axis and Y-axis operations.

• Experience with multi-axis CNC turning.

• Experience with live tooling and sub-spindle machining.

• Experience using various jaw sizes and 16C and 5C collets.

• Ability to perform complex machine setups independently.

• Experience completing first article machining and inspection.

• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.

• Experience machining parts to tight dimensional tolerances.

• Experience machining hard-to-cut alloys and heat-resistant aerospace materials.

• Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements.

• Working knowledge of NADCAP requirements.

• Working knowledge of FAA quality requirements.

• Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment.

• Experience troubleshooting machining, tooling, setup, and dimensional issues.

Preferred Skills

• Y-axis CNC turning experience.

• Okuma CNC machine experience.

• FANUC control experience.

• Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.

• Experience with complex multi-axis aerospace components.

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes for complex precision machining operations.

• Perform C-axis, Y-axis, live-tooling, and sub-spindle machining operations.

• Configure jaws, collets, tooling, and workholding for production requirements.

• Machine aerospace components from hard-to-cut and heat-resistant materials.

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.

• Perform complex setups and prove out machining processes.

• Complete first article inspections and verify dimensional compliance.

• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.

• Monitor machining operations to maintain tight tolerances and required surface finishes.

• Troubleshoot tooling, setup, dimensional, and machining process issues.

• Make machine and tooling adjustments to maintain process stability.

• Follow applicable AS9100, NADCAP, FAA, and internal quality requirements.

• Maintain required machining and inspection documentation.

Pay: 35-42/hr
