Maintenance Technician

Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and installation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor equipment in a heavy manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Heavy manufacturing experience required.
• ITAR compliance required.
• Experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical drives, motors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, vacuum systems, and conveyor equipment.
• Experience troubleshooting motor control centers, drives, and sub-electrical panels.
• Experience using volt-ohm-amp meters and other electrical testing instruments.
• Basic electrical maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of PLC systems and troubleshooting.
• Experience using tools, machines, and testing equipment for industrial equipment repair and overhaul.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals, and electrical or mechanical schematics.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment safety requirements and inspection procedures.
• Ability to work rotating weekend on-call coverage.
• Ability to work around metal powders and nickel.
• Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
• Ability to work around and on industrial equipment.
• Ability to climb steep stairs and ladders.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.

Preferred Skills

• Maintenance experience in a steel processing environment.
• Experience with motor control centers and variable-frequency drives.
• Experience with industrial hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Experience with conveyor system repair and maintenance.
• Basic machining and metal fabrication experience.
• Welding experience.
• Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical equipment throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Inspect, repair, and overhaul mechanical drives, motors, hydraulic components, pneumatic components, and conveyor systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair motor control centers, drives, and sub-electrical panels using electrical test equipment.
• Perform basic electrical maintenance and PLC-related troubleshooting.
• Conduct equipment installation, maintenance, and modification activities.
• Perform grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding, and basic machining tasks.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and equipment control issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Read and apply equipment drawings, manuals, schematics, and technical documentation during repair activities.
• Inspect equipment for operating condition and applicable safety requirements.
• Support emergency equipment repairs during assigned weekend on-call rotations.
• Maintain repair and maintenance activities in accordance with established manufacturing safety procedures.

Pay Details: $27.00 to $32.00 per hour
