Sr Electrical Engineer
Designs and implements electrical and controls systems for industrial automation equipment, including power distribution, control panels, machine networks, robotics, and automated machinery.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience designing electrical and controls systems for industrial automation environments.
- Experience developing electrical schematics.
- Experience developing control panel layouts.
- Experience designing power distribution systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including power distribution and motor controls.
- Experience developing electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Experience with servo systems, machine vision, robotics, conveyors, and automated machinery.
- 3+ years of experience designing and implementing industrial machine networks.
- Experience with EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, or similar industrial communication protocols.
- 3+ years of project management experience leading technical projects from concept through deployment.
- Experience specifying electrical, controls, networking, and automation components.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical and machine safety requirements.
Preferred Skills
- SolidWorks Electrical experience or equivalent electrical CAD software.
- Experience with KUKA, FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa, or similar industrial robotics platforms.
- Knowledge of ISO machine safety standards.
- Knowledge of RIA 15.06 requirements.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements applicable to automated machinery.
- NFPA 79 certification or related experience.
- UL 508A certification or related experience.
- ISO 13849 certification or related experience.
- IEC 62061 certification or related experience.
- Experience building, testing, and commissioning electrical control systems.
- Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity and secure machine communication principles.
- Experience using Git or similar version control platforms.
- Experience with Asana, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.
Job Responsibilities
- Design complete electrical and controls systems for automated equipment and machinery.
- Develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, power distribution designs, and engineering drawings.
- Create electrical designs using SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent CAD software.
- Develop electrical and pneumatic system schematics.
- Specify motors, drives, sensors, controls, robotics, machine vision systems, networking hardware, and related automation components.
- Design and implement industrial machine communication networks.
- Integrate third-party equipment, serial interfaces, and industrial network communications.
- Coordinate electrical and controls designs with mechanical engineering requirements.
- Develop bills of materials, technical documentation, and procurement requisitions for hardware and software.
- Lead technical projects from concept and design through installation and deployment.
- Support electrical system fabrication, testing, and integration activities.
- Support equipment installation, startup, site verification, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot electrical, controls, networking, and automation system issues.
- Verify machine control systems meet applicable electrical and industrial safety requirements.
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
