Manages cutting tools, hand tools, fixtures, and tooling inventory while performing tool setup, inspection, grinding, and cutting support for machining operations.

Job Requirements

  • 2–4 years of Tool Crib, Toolmaker, or related tooling experience.
  • Experience with tool grinding.
  • Experience with tool cutting.
  • Experience setting up tools from tool lists and setup sheets.
  • Experience inspecting and measuring cutting tools for wear and defects.
  • Experience with inventory software and order processing systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting CNC or machining operations.
  • Experience with cutting tool inspection equipment.
  • Experience maintaining tool crib inventory levels.
  • Experience creating job boxes and organizing tooling by work order.
  • Experience with fixture identification and labeling.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, organize, and issue cutting tools, hand tools, fixtures, and related tooling.
  • Maintain accurate tooling inventory levels within inventory management systems.
  • Set up tools according to tool lists and setup sheets.
  • Perform tool grinding and cutting activities as required.
  • Issue tooling and provide tool-related support to machinists.
  • Create and organize job boxes for machining operations.
  • Label fixtures and tooling for identification and production use.
  • Inspect cutting tools for wear, damage, and dimensional defects.
  • Measure tools using applicable inspection equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections of tools and fixtures.
  • Process tooling orders and inventory transactions within applicable software systems.
  • Maintain tool crib records and tooling availability for production.


Pay Details: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour
