Directs engineering operations, technical programs, product development, quality systems, and engineering teams supporting complex defense-related and energy storage applications.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience directing an engineering function, engineering segment, or comparable technical organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering or project management role.
  • Experience working in environments involving hazardous chemicals, robotic equipment, or explosive materials.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or similarly regulated technical applications.
  • Strong knowledge of product development processes.
  • Knowledge of power and energy storage battery systems.
  • Experience managing engineering personnel and technical resources.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
  • Ability to travel regularly within a 40-mile radius and domestically several times per year.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience directing engineering operations within defense, aerospace, energy storage, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience implementing Lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, balanced production lines, and waste reduction.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining engineering standards and procedures.
  • Experience reviewing and preparing technical proposals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct engineering personnel supporting multiple technical and product development projects.
  • Manage engineering resources, priorities, procedures, and technical execution.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of engineering and technical proposals.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple levels of management and project teams.
  • Present technical information regarding products, programs, and engineering initiatives to customers and management.
  • Hire, train, develop, and evaluate engineering staff.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and technical requirements.
  • Direct engineering programs and activities supporting product development and manufacturing operations.
  • Identify and implement process and productivity improvements within engineering operations.
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100 and comparable quality management system requirements.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing practices, including 5S, production line balancing, and waste reduction.
  • Support improvements to manufacturing lead times, product quality, and engineering processes.
  • Oversee engineering activities involving hazardous materials, robotic systems, explosive materials, and power or energy storage battery systems.


Pay Details: $140,000.00 to $170,000.00 per year
