Summary: Performs complex CNC lathe setup, multi-axis turning, first article inspection, and precision machining of aerospace components and difficult-to-machine materials.

Job Requirements

  • Approximately 7 years of CNC machining experience.

  • Experience with CNC lathe machining using C-axis and Y-axis equipment.

  • Experience using jaws of various sizes and 16C and 5C collets.

  • Strong multi-axis CNC turning experience, including live tooling, sub-spindle, and Y-axis machining.

  • Experience performing complex machine setups.

  • Experience completing first article machining and inspection.

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.

  • Experience machining components to tight dimensional tolerances.

  • Experience machining hard-to-cut alloys and heat-resistant aerospace materials.

  • Working knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, and FAA quality requirements.

  • Proficiency with precision inspection tools and measuring equipment.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, and setup issues.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience operating Okuma CNC equipment.

  • Experience with Fanuc controls.

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.

  • Experience machining heat-resistant superalloys and other difficult aerospace materials.

  • Experience with advanced live-tooling and sub-spindle turning operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up, prove out, and operate CNC lathes for precision component manufacturing.

  • Perform multi-axis turning operations using C-axis, Y-axis, live tooling, and sub-spindle capabilities.

  • Configure jaws, collets, tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding for complex machining operations.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing specifications.

  • Machine hard-to-cut alloys and heat-resistant materials used in aerospace applications.

  • Perform complex setups and first article machining.

  • Conduct first article and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.

  • Verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with tight tolerance requirements.

  • Troubleshoot tooling, setup, machining, dimensional, and surface-finish issues.

  • Adjust machine offsets and machining parameters to maintain quality requirements.

  • Produce components in accordance with AS9100, NADCAP, FAA, and applicable manufacturing standards.

  • Document machining and inspection results in accordance with established quality procedures.

Pay: 35-42/hr
