Aircraft Paint Technician responsible for preparing, inspecting, and applying coatings to aircraft structures while following maintenance documentation and aviation standards.


Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years of aircraft airframe nomenclature experience

  • Minimum 2 years of aircraft paint experience within the last 5 years

  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering documents, and vendor documentation

  • Knowledge of metric measurement systems

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to walk on aircraft tail stands up to 20 feet in height

  • Ability to stand, kneel, and work for extended periods

  • Ability to wear a respirator and pass pulmonary function testing

  • Vision capability of 20/20 corrected with no color perception limitations

  • Ability to use fall protection equipment including harnesses and stop reels when working on aircraft structures

  • Ability to operate and work from aerial lifts

  • No abnormal allergies to paint, solvents, primers, strippers, or related chemicals producing fumes or dust


Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting aircraft paint shop operations

  • Experience diagnosing and resolving aircraft coating or preparation issues

  • Experience documenting maintenance or coating procedures in aviation environments


Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, and coating preparation processes

  • Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings to aircraft structures and components

  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and engineering documentation to guide paint operations

  • Inspect painted surfaces and verify compliance with aviation specifications

  • Document coating procedures, materials used, and inspection results

  • Support paint shop operations by communicating technical information related to aircraft coatings

  • Identify and address coating issues or surface defects during preparation and finishing processes

  • Perform work on aircraft structures using tail stands, harness systems, and aerial lift equipment

  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures related to chemical exposure and fall protection equipment.



Pay Details: $19.00 to $26.00 per hour
