Electrical Engineer
Leads electrical engineering design and technical advisory activities for power generation, distribution, renewable energy, and energy infrastructure projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of electrical engineering design or consulting experience.
- Experience with power distribution systems and microgrids.
- Experience with power generation systems.
- Experience with high-voltage or medium-voltage substations.
- Experience developing electrical design calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
- Experience with 3D modeling and design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, CADWorx, or Navisworks.
- Experience with power system modeling software such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or equivalent.
- Experience leading electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred Skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain PE licensure within 1 year.
- Experience with renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, or related technologies.
- Experience with energy storage systems.
- Experience with protection and control systems.
- Experience with SCADA or power system automation.
- Experience with campus utility master planning.
- Experience with decarbonization or climate response planning.
- Experience with cogeneration or combined heat and power systems.
- Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems, including steam, hot water, and chilled water.
- Experience providing Owner’s Engineer, technical advisory, due diligence, contract management, or design management services.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering teams delivering design and technical advisory services for energy-sector projects.
- Provide technical leadership for electrical engineering design activities.
- Manage and review work performed by junior- and mid-level electrical engineers.
- Evaluate energy requirements and develop concept-level electrical and power system solutions.
- Lead projects from conceptual development through detailed design and execution.
- Develop power system design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Design and evaluate power distribution, generation, microgrid, and substation systems.
- Perform or oversee power system modeling and analysis.
- Provide Owner’s Engineer and technical advisory services.
- Support technical due diligence, contract management, design management, and project management activities.
- Develop engineering solutions for renewable energy, energy storage, and energy transition projects.
- Support protection, control, SCADA, and power system automation engineering activities.
- Support utility master planning, decarbonization, cogeneration, and thermal utility infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical input for project pursuits, proposals, and energy-sector business development activities.
Pay Details: $135,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
