Designs and develops heavy-duty vehicle components and systems using mechanical engineering analysis, CAD, system routing, and design validation methods.

Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Internship experience or 6+ months of related engineering experience.
  • Experience with CATIA or similar CAD software.
  • Experience reviewing or interpreting finite element analysis (FEA) results.
  • Experience with mechanical system routing.
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • No travel required.

Preferred Skills

  • Controls or robotics experience.
  • Systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Heavy truck engineering experience.
  • Electric vehicle engineering experience.
  • Experience integrating mechanical components into vehicle platforms.
  • Experience supporting vehicle component design and development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design functional and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components.
  • Perform mechanical engineering analysis for new and existing vehicle systems.
  • Develop and redesign components for integration into vehicle platforms.
  • Create and modify component designs using CATIA or similar CAD tools.
  • Review and interpret FEA results to support design decisions.
  • Develop and evaluate mechanical system routing.
  • Perform DFMEA activities for vehicle components and systems.
  • Support controls, robotics, and system-level integration activities as applicable.
  • Support development of autonomous, heavy-duty, and electric vehicle systems.
  • Evaluate component designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and vehicle integration.


Pay Details: $25.00 to $34.00 per hour
